Sometimes though, we get clients who are confused about the process of SEO, why it takes so long and why their account managers can’t fix their website issues. To help answer your questions, we had some of our SEO experts write a few things that could assist clients with what to expect before signing up at SponsoredLinX.

Often, our clients will ask us what the plan is for the day but it’s difficult to give a definitive answer. The SEO campaigns we run tend to operate on a month-by-month basis with Google’s algorithms deciding our activities.

We also want to emphasise our 6-12month KPI’s, because this is when we really begin to see valuable ROI. 

The last thing to note is that, unfortunately, we don’t operate as a web team. We may bring issues to your attention but our skill set does not extend to site functionality.

SEO is not a get rich quick scheme. An SEO campaign is like building a house. The biggest mistake people make is wanting to ‘give it a try’ for a month. Doing it for a month and calling it a campaign is like pouring some concrete and calling it a house.

SEO is not just meta descriptions. I have coded over 3,000 unique (and conversion friendly) meta descriptions on a single site in one go. One properly placed meta description is worth more than 1,000 meta descriptions placed just for the sake of it.

SEO is not just backlinks. A backlink is like recommending someone to inspect a property. The property needs to be something people recommend. You need to clean up the holes in the wall and any broken windows.

Your SEO manager is not your web guy. We have a specialised set of skills and finite resources. Adding images to your site every week would be like paying your lawyer to answer the phone. Instead, we would rather do what gets you results.

Your neighbour’s son does not know SEO. To be good at SEO means to do SEO full time. Otherwise, you’re bringing a knife to a tank fight.

Yes, you can get a website for $300. You can also get a car for $300.

Target terms people are searching for, not terms you wish people are searching for. ‘Brisbane mansion carpet cleaning’ has likely never been searched. If you’re that set on a term it would be cheaper to run a phrase match ad for it in AdWords. If it never fires the ad it means it was never searched.
