New Zealand Finally Welcomes Google Shopping!
What’s this? ‘Google Shopping New Zealand’ is now a thing?! Yes – it appears to be true, although you’re unlikely to find much about it online just yet.
Discovered by our SponsoredLinX Client Manager, Steph Potter, it seems that Google has finally gotten with the times and released the major shopping service for businesses in New Zealand. And those of us here at SponsoredLinX couldn’t be more excited!
Below, Steph explains more about the phenomenon that is Google Shopping, and why this is such an exciting announcement for New Zealand businesses!
So, What Makes Google Shopping So Great?
“Given that Google receives nearly 6 billion searches every day, you really can’t go past the Google Shopping network; it truly does give you greater opportunities to expose your products to a higher number of potential buyers (who happen to be searching for a product just like yours!). What’s more, the platform also gives you more control over where your ads appear, while at the same time increasing your level of high-quality website traffic.
“When a user searches for an item similar to what you are selling, your product images will appear on the first page of their Google search results, with the shopping tab giving all of the most pertinent information to potential buyers. Along with a picture of the product, the ad will also display the price, a link to your landing page, any promotional information (% off or free shipping, etc), and of course, a short description of the item. By doing this, it’s possible to drive more qualified traffic to your website, as the user has already looked over your product and pricing, and is more likely ready to make an informed purchasing decision.”
Why Should New Zealand Be Excited?
“The exciting thing about Google Shopping now being available in NZ (and discovering it so early) is that you can jump ahead of the competition; getting your products out there before the masses discover it.
“Google Shopping is traditionally very cheap to run and can increase ROI on a small daily budget. Generally, Cost-Per-Click is charged in cents (often the CPC is 50% less than that of a standard search) – even for e-commerce stores in a highly competitive market. So don’t delay, make sure you set up a Google Shopping platform ASAP!” – Steph Potter
